FUJIFILM ENHANCES CUSTOMIZED DIGITAL X-RAY SYSTEMS DESIGNED FOR PRIVATE PRACTICES

Stamford, CT - September 9, 2008 - FUJIFILM Medical Systems USA, the inventor of and world leader in digital x-ray systems, has announced the availability of two new Fujifilm Computed Radiography (FCR) systems – FCR XL-2 and FCR XC-2 customized to meet the unique imaging needs of private practices. Both systems include enhancements to the previous generation of Fujifilm’s digital x-ray systems, delivering superior image quality and enhanced throughput in a compact design, making them ideal for any private practice including orthopaedic, chiropractic, internal medicine and urgent care facilities.

Known for their user-friendly interface, the FCR XL-2 and FCR XC-2 are full-featured computed radiography systems that take up only 2.41 square feet of floor space, so they can easily fit in areas with limited physical space like small exam rooms, or even under countertops. They both also come standard with a wide range of customized anatomical menus to select from to address the unique imaging needs of the specialty practice. Exams can be completed both swiftly and with extraordinary image quality for diagnostic confidence.

“It was important for us to get firsthand market experience and carefully assess the unique needs of private practice practitioners,” explained Eddie Massetti, Fujifilm’s Marketing Manager, Specialty Markets. “As a result, the FCR XL-2 and FCR XC-2 deliver Fujifilm’s 30-plus years of digital x-ray experience in a customized package, enabling private practice staffs to benefit time and again from a more efficient imaging process that delivers high quality results.”

The FCR XL-2 is ideal for practices where higher volume imaging is demanded. It offers 50 micron resolution (10 line pair/mm) which is among the highest resolution modes available today in a single plate CR reader. Access to higher resolution images proves especially beneficial and improves diagnostic confidence in environments where visualization of fine details is required. The FCR XC-2, with throughput speeds 20 percent faster than its predecessor, produces up to 72 images per hour, making it optimal for areas with variable workflow needs but big image quality demands.

Both systems provide all the advantages of digital x-ray – virtual elimination of repeat exams and lost films, lower storage and management costs, and more options to enhance images. Additionally, they offer Fujifilm’s renowned image quality and proven technology to optimize images for display.
